GOBAMA!!!

Last weekend was amazing!!! Jessica and I went up to Stanford to visit good ole Alyssa. The commute up there took much longer than we expected, however, because we just missed the bart when we got to the station. So we had to wait another 20 min, then another 20 min between transfers, 40 min for the Cal Train, and 30 minutes for the bus. That's is 2 hours longer than it should have taken. We left at 9:50 and got there at around 2. Oh yeah, because it was raining a lot, we basically couldn't do anything there, but stay in Alyssa's dorm! haha but its cool, it was a fun adventure. Stanford has a really pretty campus and it's nice to walk on flat ground! But everyone knows Cal is a much cooler place, and I know Alyssa feels the same deep down! Hah! Oh yeah, the trip back was also a bit of a disastor, because we were stranded at the Palo Alto station for over 2 hours in the rain!!! hahaha. But anyways, we got back for the Jason Mraz concert.

The concert was AMAZING!!! Jason Mraz is 100 times better live (if that's possible). Omg it was awesome. We were such fangirls, screaming, yelling, spazzing. I bet we annoying the people around us, but who the hell cares!!! If It Kills Me, Beautiful Mess, Live High, Lucky are my favorite songs of his new album!!

OMG!!! I am so elated that Obama won! His victory speech was AMAZING. IF you haven't seen it, you MUST. I have never been so inspired by a public figure before and I have never been so optimistic about a politician. It was a well fought fight. Obama ran a brilliant campaign. McCain, sorry to say, is really not what the country needs right now. We do not need an extension of the Bush administration and an economic policy a la Hoover. We have already re-gained legitimacy and favor around the world.

Anyways, what better place to celebrate such a historic victory than at Berkeley!! After Obama's speech, 100s maybe 1000s of people raced out to the streets of Cal celebrating his win. It was THE best night I've ever had here. There was so much euphoria and emotion. HUGE crowds of people running through the streets, cars honking, people chanting in unity, music, dancing, and just ultimate civic pride. I will never forget that night. And I am so happy that I got to experience it at Berkeley.

haha, Alice randomly found this video on Youtube. See if you can spot me!!! (Hint: I'm wearing a white shirt) :)
